Dr. Pramod Kumar, DGN 2016-17,a Paediatrician and a first generation Rotarian, he is at present Chief Consultant and Head of Dept of Paediatrics at Hindalco Hospital, Renukoot.

Born in Rourkela, Orissa his parents Late Shri Devendra Kumar was head of Accounts at Rourkela Fertilizer Plant and his mother Late Smt Sarswati Devi, a pious simple home maker. Both the parents have had profound influence on his life. In his own words ‘My father was an epitome of professionalism and taught me work ethics and how to enjoy work. My mother meant the world to me as to everyone and I have made no decision against her wishes. Had it not been so, I would be somewhere in America serving alien people. Help anyone if it is within your capability’, was her constant request and for me this meant “Service Above Self”, and so I am in Rotary.’

He got a taste of Rotary while in medical school at Cuttack, when he joined the Rotract Club. After his graduation he did his MD from PGIMS Rohtak, Haryana. An active member of Spic Macay , an organisation promoting classical music and culture amongst Youth, he interacted with several renowned musical geniuses Mrs Sanjukta Panigrahi, Guru Kelucharan Mahapatro, Pt Shiv Kumar Sharma, Pt Hari Prasad Chaurasia ,  Pt Jasraj and noted Kathak Exponent Mrs Uma Sharma. All left an indelible impression on his youthful mind and shaped his thinking to a large extent and redefined his concept of service for others leading him to challenge established concepts which only focussed on “self”.

During his MD, he was part of the process which produced a document related to conduct of Pulse Polio in 1996. After joining Hindalco Ind as Consultant Paediatrician, he organised a massive pulse polio program supported by Hindalco as per the WHO guidelines. And that was how he met Rotarians from Renukoot whose commitment to this program amazed and inspired him. He joined Rotary Club Renukoot in July 2001 during the DG visit of District Governor P K Jain. With his enthusiasm and missionary zeal to make this program a huge success, he skilfully utilised the corporate support and managed to fire the youth of the area to participate in this program as part of a nation building process. WHO acknowledged this as “the Best model of corporate participation in Govt Health Program ’.  He became the president of the Rotary Club, in 2005-06 and was instrumental in putting Rotary Club Renukoot, firmly on the map of District 3120. The club won all awards that year including the Best Club, Best Secretary and the Diamond Club of the district for Highest Foundation Contribution and maximum membership growth and the club proposed 29 PHFs.

For the last 10 years he has had many professional and rotary assignments- DPPC for two consecutive years, Assistant District Trainer, GSR for Renusagar and Dalla Club, District Zonal Secretary, District Polio Plus Advisor, has done an MBA in Human Resource Management from IMT Ghaizabad and is a Harvard Business School Alumini. He is a busy speaker at national and international conferences in Paediatrics, speaking on environmental Issues and also a professional quiz master and speaker on spirituality topics. He was the president of IMA Hindalco Renukoot for 13-14. His dedication to his profession was recognised by Aditya Birla Group when he was awarded the Exceptional Contributor Award in 2009 and the Value Leader Award in 2010. He is a Multiple Paul Harris Fellow.
An avid lover of Indian classical and old films music, he conducts highly acclaimed musical and general quiz programs. His love for quizzing as means of learning also extends to Rotary, and he has conducted several hugely appreciated Quiz programs at various conferences. The spirit of wanderlust has taken him to several parts of the globe both within the country and abroad. He is popular teacher right from medical school days and is associated with leading high schools in Renukoot taking classes on Adolescent health for students and parents.

He is married to Dr Premlata who is a past President of Inner Wheel Club Renukoot and an active Rotarian. They have a daughter Pranjali and son Pratyush , both studying in school.

Rtn. Dr. Premlata Yadav

1st Lady of District

Born in a humble household of a government officer Shri Ram Lakhan Yadav, and Smt Geeta Devi, third arrival in the family, she was greeted with celebrations which went on for several weeks.

She grew up in the lanes of Farrukabad, Bilgram, Hardoi, Lakhimpur, Lalitpur, etc warranted by the transfer of her father, in Uttar Pradesh. A toast of teachers topping each examination she was also the school stalwart in Hockey, Volleyball and Basketball. Premlata did her college from Hamirpur in UP, and topped her board examination and also captained the college hockey team to victories in several inter college competitions.

Premlata did her MBBS from GSVM Medical College, Kanpur and then joined KGMC, for her specialisation in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Doing specialization in management of Habitual Abortions and Infertility patients, she still confesses “there is no bigger fee ever paid to me or a picture more beautiful than the smile on the face of a mother who had conceived after several years of marriage’.

I have known her as straight forward and unwilling to spin her comments for public consumption. A staunch feminist, she tied the knot with Dr Pramod, on 4th of February 1999.

She presented scientific papers in several National and State conferences, and was a much sought after under graduate teacher in Medical College. And still attends all major conferences relating to her area of specialization. Currently working at Hindalco Hospital, Renukoot as Chief Consultant, Gynaecology, She was awarded the Value Leader Award for her consistent display of Aditya Birla Group Values of Integrity, commitment, passion, seamlessness and speed. Recently awarded the people Champion by the CEO for her dedication to managing very critical patients.
She loves watching new Hindi Movies and listening to old Hindi songs. A devout fan of Amitab, a sports fanatic, she loves out door activities and travelling to new places is a passion she indulges in ever so often. An introvert, she believes ‘action speaks louder than words”. She nurtures a secret ambition of setting up a small health facility which would provide safe and subsidised care to women and children. She has two children, Pranjali(Tuk Tuk) and Avi.
